Demain Dès L'aube

2023

This motion graphic is a typographic interpretation of Victor Hugo's poem "Demain Dès L'Aube" a poem about grief, pilgrimage, and the weight of absence. Rather than illustrating the poem literally, the piece uses letterforms and their movement to give form to its emotional interior.

Letters fade on screen in ways that mirror the poem's relationship to time slow, deliberate, and irreversible. The pacing allows space for feeling to accumulate rather than forcing it. A limited color palette reinforces the somber register throughout, keeping the visual language tight and the emotional focus clear.

Typography becomes the primary vehicle here: not decoration, but structure. The way letters arrive and disappear carries as much meaning as the words themselves.
